* What We Eat We Become*
The healthier our food , the more energetic we feel. And what better way to make it healthier by offering the cooked food first to the Almighty and then serving that pious food, that Prasadam, to everyone. This is the regular ritual in our school, Prabhupad Gurukul. The food blessed by the divine is offered to everyone in the school including our precious students, dedicated teaching and non-teaching staff members and very hardworking class IV employees as well. Our aim is to provide everyone with healthy nutrition-intact meals, which are freshly made in our school kitchen with the best quality ingredients handpicked by the kitchen workers and the whole process is minutely supervised by our kitchen supervisors.
At Prabhupad Gurukul, we believe that we all are a family and just like a normal family, we have our meals together. This practice has also helped us to inculcate some amazing essential learnings such as manners, discipline, sense of togetherness and equality among our Gurukulites. Moreover, it has enabled our children to learn and understand the benefits of collective eating and the power of sharing meals.
These meals are provided twice, firstly in the form of Fruit break in the morning wherein, fresh seasonal fruits are served and secondly, as Food break in the afternoon that consists of a healthy and nutritious meal.
Since ancient times, schools have been considered as a ‘Temple of Learning’ where students were imparted with subject knowledge as well as human values. Following the same principle, Prabhupad Gurukul believes in imparting the knowledge through textbooks and even beyond it. Our approach is to prepare our children for their whole life and to achieve this, we are not going to leave any stone unturned, be it their studies, extracurricular activities or the food.
Thatβs right !! Even our school kitchen is a rich source to instill enormous values in our children, contributing in their holistic development. Therefore, here at Prabhupad Gurukul, we focus on Learning and Growing Together by Eating Together.
